Thrift Store Therapy---Vintage Die Cuts, Wilder Mann and a Giveaway!

I love vintage Halloween decorations and I came across these Carrington die cuts on a recent thrift trip:

Also, I FINALLY got my copy of Wilder Mann. I guess it went into a reprint so it was 30.00 versus the hundreds of dollars I was seeing before:

The current crop of Halloween decor in stores has leaned delightfully towards those holographic pictures and I picked one up:

Very "Wilder Mann"---despite our modern lives,  we still feel the pull of "the wild".

I also have to share with you the fab Halloween crown I won from Marfi at Incipient Wings. Love it!

And now we get to the giveaway:

I've got one DVD copy of the Rankin/Bass classic "Mad Monster Party" to give away. This is a stop motion animation film that was first released in 1967. Boris Von Frankenstein (Boris Karloff) is retiring as head of the Worldwide Organization of Monsters and throws a "mad monster party" to deliver the news. Phylis Diller (as a witch) is there along with a whole gaggle of other monsters. I will warn you this film is very dated. Some of the humor falls completely flat, and the female love interest of the story has a classic bullet bra chest that is scary in itself.  However, its still a hoot :) Just leave a comment below and I will draw a name on Saturday, Oct 26th.

  1. I see Endora in your side bar ~ loved her.
Yes I always feel the pull of the wild ... yesterday it pulled me right out of the pony cart when I hit a bump and spilled down a hill ,almost bumped heads with a heron standing in the bog ditch . Yup I'm fine really, just a bit of a scary tumble . The heron was as startled
as I was . True story too .

  2. Wow
    Great finds!
    Love that witch!
    That holographic picture is awesome!
Your crown looks perfect on you.
    Glad it finally got there...
What a cute giveaway... Love boris Karloff's lisp!

  3. So jealous of the vintage die-cuts you scores, I want a huge collection to sell and display :D !
